What is Wegovy Pill?
Wegovy Pill is an oral medicine that contains semaglutide. It is used for chronic weight management in adults when a prescriber agrees it is appropriate, together with reduced calories and increased physical activity.
For a deeper explanation of mechanism and how PrivateDoc prescribes, read How Wegovy Pill works
How does Wegovy Pill support weight loss?
Semaglutide mimics GLP-1 activity, influencing appetite centres so you may feel less hungry and find it easier to follow your nutrition plan. Tablets are taken on a titrated schedule set by your clinician.
Who might Wegovy Pill be suitable for?
Only a UK prescriber can confirm suitability after reviewing your BMI, medical history, medicines, and contraindications. If you are unsure, start with a consultation — we will explain options whether or not tablets are right for you.
How should I take Wegovy Pill?
Swallow tablets whole with water as directed on your prescription and patient information leaflet. Do not change timing or dose without medical advice.
Titration and dose changes
Doses are increased gradually to improve tolerability. Your prescriber will agree a schedule; report persistent side effects early.
Side effects and when to seek help
Digestive symptoms are common with GLP-1 medicines; serious problems are uncommon but important to recognise. Always read your patient information leaflet.
Missed doses
If you miss a dose, follow the PIL or the instructions given by your prescriber. Do not take an extra tablet to catch up unless you have been told to.
How much does Wegovy Pill cost?
Monthly packs start from TBC; see the table below for each titration step.

Packs and prices
Tablet compared with Wegovy injection
Both contain semaglutide for weight management when clinically appropriate, but formulation and dosing differ. Switching requires a new assessment — see Wegovy injection hub for pen-based treatment.
Switching between formulations
Never swap from injection to tablet, or vice versa, without prescriber guidance on timing and starting dose.
How long until I might notice changes?
Weight and appetite change gradually. Your clinician will agree review points; adherence, diet, and activity all influence outcomes.
